The Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards honors innovation in electronic book publishing by individuals and organizations of all sizes, including publishers, software developers, designers, manufacturers, institutions, and technology leaders. The definition of “book” continues to expand, and the Independent Book Publishers Association wishes to honor and encourage the field’s innovators with a marquee, rolling awards program.
As a rolling awards program, the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards welcomes submissions year round and entries will be judged against a standard of excellence in four categories: E-books, Enhanced E-books, Books as Apps and New Technologies. The IBPA Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards provides both Gold and Silver Honoree awards for exceptional content, and all entrants will benefit from direct, constructive feedback from judges, a hallmark of the IBPA Benjamin Franklin print book awards , now in their 25th year.
All honorees are showcased and promoted on the IBPA website and through the IBPA social media platforms, newsletters and media releases and announcements to the book trade industry. In addition, all honorees receive promotional space in the widely circulated Independent, the official print publication of the IBPA and are displayed and promoted at BEA, ALA, PLA and the Frankfurt International Book Fair. All honorees are recognized at a gala event celebrating the recipients at the IBPA annual Publishing University. Honorees also receive award certificates along with award seal graphics for cover art and promotional and marketing materials.
The Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards are administered by the IBPA, with the help of more than 50 book publishing professionals representing all segments of the book industry. All entrants receive direct feedback—the judges’ scores and comments are made available to each entrant. The average time from submission to receiving feedback is approximately eight weeks.
We are deeply indebted to IBPA for the the wealth of knowledge you have shared with us. You . . . provide a vital service to the publishing industry. Without question, your efforts enhance our culture.
